Blyde Canyon Boat trip

Distance: 40 minutes from the lodge 

Duration: 60 to 90 minutes 

Tip: On your way back, stop at the waterfall hike, a 3 km hike to find a hidden waterfall gem with a beautiful small lake in which you can swim.

Cruise through one of South Africa's most stunning natural wonders, surrounded by towering cliffs, lush landscapes, and the famous Three Rondavels. Camping @ Krugerpark 

2 nights minimum 

Distance: Orpen Gate is a 75 minute drive 

Duration: 2 nights, 3 days 

Tip: If more convenient, we are happy to handle the shopping for you

Immerse yourself in the wild with an unforgettable camping experience in Kruger National Park. Sleep under the stars surrounded by the sounds of the African bush, and wake up to the sunrise over the savanna.

This adventure offers a unique blend of comfort and raw nature, perfect for those seeking an authentic connection with Africa's wilderness.

We will book your spot and all camping gear is provided, but you'll need to set up your own tent and prepare your own meals for a true hands-on experience in the wild.

Visit the Jabulani Elephant herd

Distance: Entrance is a 60 minute drive 

Duration: 90 to 120 minutes, early start

Tip: Wear old clothes, lots of interaction 

This remarkable group of elephants has inspired many people with their story of survival. The unique composition, with many orphaned elephants integrated into the group, makes this group world famous. A guide will tell you all about elephant behaviour and the special characteristics of each elephant in the group. Although you can get very close, these elephants do not live in captivity, they roam around in a beautiful nature reserve.

Find the Big 5 

@ unfenced community tented camp

Distance: The camp is a 90 minute drive

Duration: 1 night, 2 days 

Tip: a really good value for money option

You will have a night out in a Big 5 reserve, connected to Krugerpark, where you will sleep in safari tents which will give you the ultimate Big 5 experience. Sleeping with the sounds of the hyenas and lions... You will start with a lunch and will leave soon after for the sunset game drive. In a drive of approximately 3 hours you will go look for the big 5. After dinner you go to bed early because your sunrise game drive starts at the break of dawn.

The camp is not fenced off and children 12+ are welcome to join the game drives

Ride a hot air Balloon

Distance: The start is a 60 minute drive

Duration: A few hours early morning 

Tip: don't forget your sunglasses! 

Experience the magic of a hot air balloon ride at sunrise over the South African bush.

Drift serenely through the sky as the first light of day casts a golden glow over the landscape, with the majestic Drakensbergen always in view. Keep your eyes peeled for glimpses of wildlife as you float gracefully above the bush, creating an unforgettable start to your day.

Tip: when you add 20 minutes, you will be fetched at the lodge!

Tip: No need to be very experienced to participate!

Reptile Centre Experience 

Distance: The centre is a 30 minute drive 

Duration: around 2 hours 

Tip: great for kids all ages 

A private, interactive, tour with expert guides will provide you with insights in the fascinating world of reptiles. The tour will be followed by a snake demonstration which shows you the behaviour of several different species of snakes.

We're preparing workshops where you can craft with wire once used for poaching, create traditional beats, and visit a vulture colony.

 

Plus, explore the rich culture of a traditional African tribe with a special visit to a medicine man.

Visit Kruger National Park

* Orpen Gate is situated around 75 minutes from the lodge | full day trip â€‹

Krugerpark is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It spans across almost 20,000 square kilometers, which is almost as large as Belgium. It's home to all iconic African animal species including the Big 5. Because of the high density of animals, you will experience wonderful views from your own car.

Explore the Panoramaroute

From the iconic Blyde River Canyon to the lush forests of God's Window, this scenic drive offers a feast for the senses and a deep connection to the natural beauty of South Africa.

Jessica Hippo; ever kissed a hippo? 

it's about a 45 minute drive from the lodge

Jessica is a very special Hippo, she was raised by humans and therefore she's extremely spoiled.

She loves sweet potato and drinks warm Rooibos tea. Jessica is not being held in captivity, she is free to wonder around and after her potatoes and tea session she often leaves.

Farmersmarket; first Saturday of each month

​Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of our farmers' market, where local artisans showcase a rich variety of arts and crafts. Savor delicious, fresh food, and take the opportunity to support local farmers and creators.

Kamogelo Tourist Centre 

* In Hoedspruit, about a 40 minute drive from the lodge

Discover this charming area of Hoedspruit, where you'll find a wide array of small shops offering everything from clothing and souvenirs to jewellery and a well-equipped photo shop. Enjoy delightful lunches at numerous restaurants, some of which feature excellent children's spaces.

Moholoholo Wildlife rehabilitation Centre 

* About a 40 minute drive from the lodge 

Moholoholo is a home for the rehabilitation of abandoned, ​injured or poisoned wildlife including rhino, wild dog, cheetah, lion, vultures en many more. ​

A must-go not only to see the animals up close and personal, but also to get informed about conservation in South Africa. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
